Care Guide
Each Haas piece is handcrafted with heart. To keep its beauty for years to come, please care for it gently, as you would a story in your home. Our materials are natural and unique. Variations in color, grain, and texture are part of their character. No two pieces are ever the same.
What is your piece made of?
Not sure? The material is listed under “Details” on every product page.

Care for your piece
Marble & OnyxSealed natural stone

CoversPARBU · BHUMI · SAKA · ANJA · OMBAK · ONIRA · OSA · stone lamp bases
Everyday
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
- Clean with a soft, damp cloth and plain water, then dry.
- Our stone is sealed, which helps it resist stains. It is not stain-proof, so blot spills straight away.
- Keep the felt pad on the base. Use a coaster or tray under anything wet.
Avoid
- Vinegar, lemon, glass cleaner and any acidic or harsh cleaner. They etch the surface.
- Rubbing a spill. Blot instead (coffee, tea, wine, oil, perfume, alcohol).
- Hot pans and open flame.
- Food contact. Decorative use only, not food safe.
It’s normal when
- Veining and colour differ from the photo. Every stone is unique.
- A soft natural patina develops over time. That is its story with you.
- Onyx is more delicate than marble. Handle it with both hands.
Solid WoodFurniture and wooden pieces

CoversPELUK · PRABA · KALA · JIRA · WASTU · SVARA · KAUM
Everyday
- Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth, following the grain.
- Wipe spills straight away, then dry.
- Use coasters and trivets under glasses, cups and hot dishes.
- Every few months, refresh with a little furniture wax on a soft cloth. Try a hidden spot first.
Avoid
- Direct sunlight, and air-conditioner or heater vents. Sudden dry or damp air can dry or swell wood.
- Leaving water or a wet glass standing on the surface.
- Dragging furniture. Lift it, so joints and floors stay safe.
- Outdoor use. Indoor only.
It’s normal when
- Grain, knots and colour differ from the photo.
- The tone deepens and shifts with time. Each wood ages differently.
Kitchen Boards & ServersFor cutting and serving

CoversTEPA · DAWA · PADU · TEDUH · LEBU · RAKSA · RANU
Everyday
- Wash by hand with a little mild soap and a damp cloth. Dry straight away.
- Stand it upright so air reaches both sides.
- Oil lightly with food-grade mineral oil or a food-safe board wax when the wood looks dry or pale.
Avoid
- The dishwasher, soaking, and standing water.
- Cooking oils such as olive or vegetable oil. They can turn sticky.
- Hot pots and direct heat. Avoid long sun.
- Leaving brass handles and natural rope wet.
It’s normal when
- Fine knife marks appear on a cutting board. They can be lightly sanded and re-oiled.
- Colour and grain differ from board to board.
Brass, Iron & MetalNatural brass, with a patina that deepens

CoversRAVA · LANGIT · JINARA · ASVARA · PURNA · LERO · LADU · LUME · DWIPA · SARPA · UTTARA · YATRA · WANGSA · PILAR · TULA frame
Everyday
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
- If needed, wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry at once.
- Our brass is natural brass. For a brighter finish, polish gently with a brass-safe cleaner and a soft cloth.
- For matte black and matte gold tones, test a small hidden spot first. Polishing can lighten the tone.
Avoid
- Abrasive pads, sprays and harsh chemicals that scratch.
- Moisture. Iron and brass dislike steam, rain, sea air and dripping air-conditioners.
- Polish on silver-plated or chrome-finish pieces. A soft dry cloth is enough.
- Outdoor use. Indoor only.
It’s normal when
- Brass forms a patina over time. It is a beautiful part of its character.
- Tone varies slightly between pieces of the same finish.
Pottery, Clay & TerracottaHandmade glaze and fired clay

CoversTANO · BUNI · AKAR · GUMUK · NUSA · TUMBUH · SAMODRA · PELIRANG · URMI
Everyday
- Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe with a barely damp cloth, then dry.
- Place on a stable, dry surface, away from table edges.
- Lift from the body or base, never from the neck.
- For fresh flowers, use a liner or a glass insert. Vessels are decorative, not watertight, unless noted.
Avoid
- Sudden temperature changes, for example hot water in a cold vessel. They can crack clay.
- Soaking, and harsh or abrasive cleaners.
- Outdoor use, unless noted on the product page.
It’s normal when
- Glaze pools, varies or shows small texture changes. That is character, not a defect.
- Two pieces from the same range look slightly different.
Lamps & LightingTable, floor and pendant lamps

CoversPELIRANG · PARBU · BHUMI · NUSA · SAMODRA · TUMBUH · JINARA · ASVARA · LANGIT · RAVA · PURNA
Everyday
- Always unplug before cleaning, fitting a shade or changing a bulb.
- Use an E27 LED bulb, maximum 9W, 2700K warm white.
- Fit the bulb last, once the shade is secure. Turn until snug, then stop.
- Dust the shade with a soft brush or a low-suction vacuum.
Avoid
- Halogen or incandescent bulbs, and anything above 9W.
- Washing the shade or spraying any liquid on it.
- Over-tightening the bulb. It damages the contact inside.
It’s normal when
- Shade fabric shows slight texture variations.
- Ceiling and pendant lamps are installed by a qualified electrician. This is how we supply PURNA and RAVA.
Candle HoldersMarble and metal

CoversOSA · SARPA · YATRA · DWIPA · LUME · MADJA · UTTARA · ALOKA
Everyday
- Place on a flat, stable, heat-safe surface.
- Use candles that fit the holder snugly. Dripless candles keep the finish clean.
- Put the flame out before it burns down to the last 2 cm.
- Let wax set, then lift it off gently with your fingers or a soft plastic card.
Avoid
- Leaving a lit candle unattended, or near curtains, flowers and anything that burns.
- Scraping wax with a knife or any metal.
- Scented oils on marble. They can stain.
It’s normal when
- Soot or wax marks appear. Wipe them straight away on marble.
- Metal holders: follow the Brass, Iron & Metal care above.
Mirror & GlassSteel frame, 6 mm mirror

CoversASA · other glass pieces
Everyday
- Spray cleaner onto a soft cloth, never straight onto the mirror.
- Keep the edges and frame dry.
- Hang or lean only on a wall that can carry the weight, with proper fixings.
Avoid
- Liquid running behind the glass. It can damage the backing.
- Bathrooms and steam.
- Moving a large piece alone. Use two people.
It’s normal when
- The steel frame shows slight hand-finished variations.
ArtworkHand-painted acrylic on canvas, teak frame

CoversBLOOM · CITRON · THE FIG · PORTRAIT · SERENITY · SOLITUDE · FOREST · EARTH · ROUGE
Everyday
- Dust gently with a soft, dry brush or cloth.
- Hang away from direct sun.
- Dust the teak frame dry.
Avoid
- Water, sprays or cleaning products on the canvas.
- Kitchen steam, bathrooms, and air-conditioner or heater vents. Damp can warp canvas and frame.
- Touching the painted surface. Skin oils can mark it.
It’s normal when
- Texture, brush strokes and small variations appear. They are the artist’s hand, and make each piece one of a kind.
Velvet, Cushions & FabricSoft furnishings

CoversTULA seat · cushions
Everyday
- Vacuum on low suction, or brush lightly along the direction of the nap.
- Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth.
- Rotate and fluff cushions regularly to keep their shape and comfort.
Avoid
- Rubbing a spill. It can mark velvet and push the stain deeper.
- Soaking, and the washing machine. Spot clean gently only.
- Direct sunlight and heat. They fade and wear fabric.
It’s normal when
- Velvet shows lighter and darker shading as the nap moves. Brush it back lightly.
Rattan & Natural RopeWoven natural fibre

CoversKEYA · URMI · RANU rope detail
Everyday
- Dust with a soft, dry brush or cloth.
- Keep it dry and well ventilated.
Avoid
- Soaking. Humidity can cause mould or loosen the weave.
- Direct sun and heat. The fibre can dry out and turn brittle.
It’s normal when
- Natural fibres move a little over time. Small irregularities are part of the handmade look.
Living with Haas
In a tropical home
Humidity
It is the quiet enemy. Ventilate rooms, and use a dehumidifier or silica gel where the air is damp.
Air conditioning
Don’t aim the AC straight at wood, rattan or artwork. Constant cold, dry air stresses natural materials.
Sunlight
Sun moves. A spot that is shady in the morning can be burning by afternoon, so check where light lands.
Moving house
Keep the original box and packing. It will protect your piece again. Keep marble, glass, candles and cords out of reach of kids and pets.
